RobboMills was twittering a while back about a party he was at, and mentioned they played an Iggy Pop/Peggy Lee Mashup.
Since I absolutely had to fucking hear it, I googled it down and gave it a listen.
And now I give it to you.
Thanks Robbo. Best Christmas gift ever.

Heh heh, happy to oblige.
I first heard that on CBC Radio 2's "Drive" - and was immediately taken with it.
I recall back in the late '70's or early '80's - I can't remember when exactly I was really fucked up in those days - but a bootleg release came out using a recording tech that was new and amazing for that time. Somebody at one of the labels took the master tracks for Elvis Presley and Linda Rondstadt singing "Love Me Tender" and turned it into a duet. They had to mess with the timing of the tracks to make the two singers appear as though singing together, without affecting the pitch - which, at that time, was an astonishing feat. The resultant duet was wonderous.
Of course, since that time we've got everybody and their uncle singing along with Sinatra or Nat King Cole or whomever gets pulled out of the archives and dusted off. Most times it's just a cloying exercise in nostalgia.
But when two incredibly diverse performances (and performers) like Iggy and Peggy are brought together across the expanse of time - that's creative magic.
Glad you liked it - and thanks for sharing.
Cheers.
